Hi everyone. So sorry to hear of Fred s passing. We served same time and are next to each other in the pass out photo of Dec 61. Nice guy always had a chat with him at Taunton in later years. Unfortunately Viv and I are now unable to attend the Newton Abbot reunion in 2017. I have informed Phil. Booked in for Taunton in February and hope to meet up with a few of you then. Regards and best wishes. Mike.

so sad to hear of Fred Songhurst passing. He taught me (in the barrack room) how to swing the sticks on my tenor drum and then introduced me to Drummie Yates. I was in the band immediately!!!!

I just want to give my (and I expect many others) heartfelt thanks to Chalkie White for all the work he has done over the years in bringing old boys together at Barnsley. It has certainly been a sterling effort all round. As to the few of you who cast aspertions about Chalkie need to banned from coming again to any reunion. As I am sure Phil Kirk will also do a sterling job and more power to your elbow Phil very best of good luck in your venture
