Hello to you all.
My father is unfortunately extremely ill and we are now spending a lot of time going over the past! One of his most cherished times was when was posted to Denbury as a PT Instructor. I have one photograph of him with the boxing team and thought it was worth a shot to see if any of you old boys had any anecdotes or even photographs?
I followed my Father into the Corps as a Radio Telegraphist and eventually retired to Australia after reaching the rank of Captain (Traffic).
I met an number of my fathers trainees over the years at the corps reunions but without mobile phones and email I had no contact details.
I am grateful for anything you may have!
Thanks in advance.
Stu

The Following is taken from “Latest News” posted on Steve Wrights “Denbury Junior Leaders” site. (By Permission statement)
Certain facts stated by him are incorrect in terms of “Copyright” and Timeout of Copyright.
Below is the statement made by Mr. Wright dated August 2019. I reprint it as some may not visit the site which is now “Dedicated” to Bob Wathen. The statement is in quotes. “ - “.
To me personally this may be taken as a request for financial donations to support the site now that it is dedicated to Bob Wathen. I will not be contributing any further as I have always felt that this site was dedicated to all who served as a Denbury Boy.
I also remember a post on Facebook 45 weeks ago stating the only HISTORY from September 1963 to the end would be the content of the site due to some kind of hassle. If this is going to be the case, then how can it be dedicate to Bob as he had been and gone by September 1963. “As to modern History”? WHY.
Confused.com I am as to intentions by site owner.

“Need to make a statement regarding copyright on this website, if claiming this the following would appear “Copyright 2004 SWW All Rights Reserved”, instead the statement at the bottom of each page “Copyright: We don’t mind if you copy the material but please be decent about it and acknowledge this website”.
The home page states “Thanks go to the Royal Signals Museum – Wire magazine – Mid Devon Advertiser – Western Morning News also Denbury Boys and staff who are in touch have contributed items and have made the important financial donations to make this all possible”, it is impossible to put ownership to all images as many of the same were sent by several folks and then was able to pick the best quality one, having a photograph does not mean you own it unless you took it, if you are on it clearly you could not have taken it, I rest my case!
Denbury official photographs were “crown copyright” however understand this does cease after 50 years, BTW at the very beginning of this project, tried to track down the photographer “Nicholas Horne Ltd of Totnes” who took these official photographs, long out of business, no records, also tracked down the Newton Abbot printers who took on printing the graduation programmes, spoke to a gentlemen on the phone who remembers throwing out what they had a few years before.
For the record back in 2004 applied for and received a permit to display “crown copyright” material, also checked with the Royal Signals Museum and Wire magazine and got the go ahead to publish their material as long as I mentioned them.
This website is now dedicated to Bob “Taff” Wathen RIP and intending a revamp to include “modern history” and will go through my files seeking out items of interest and troop/group images, however this will take some time.”
Are the Denbury Reunions still going to be in Newton Abbot?

Is anyone on the committee of the following association.
Denbury Junior Leaders Regt Association denburyjuniorleaders.com.
On a GOOGLE SEARCH it clearly states it is an association. The rules for association are well laid down. I have to assume it is UN-INCORPORATED, but have now idea how it is run or how donation are recorded and expenses accounted for.
Can anyone help.

Hello
I just wanted to pass on the sad news that my dad, Gordon Wilkinson, sadly passed away on the 13th of October 2022.
He was a Junior Leader at Denbury from 1960 and told me of his time there.
He eventually became a Sgt in the Signals leaving in 1978 to then work at BT until 2009.
Wanted to share on here as some of you may have known Gordon.
Regards
Paul

Stu Jackson, I remember a Cpl Jacko Jackson PTI, he was very muscular with fair hair and I think he had a Yorkshire accent. I was there 1962-64, he was definitely there in September 1962 but cannot recall if he was there for the whole of my stay at Denbury. Jacko was older than the other PTI's I would put him at mid to late 20s. I remember seeing him with a BD top on and I think he had some medal ribbons. Jacko had a mo and a broken nose. Thats about all I can remember Stu, maybe Fred Carr has some photos of the boxing team with Jacko.

All this diatribe from CW lately complaining about SW is all rather boring and from the lack of further comment it can be assumed most of us aren't interested. The Association of Junior Leaders was only meant in the sense of a connection of ideas amongst friends or colleagues rather than a legal constitution. It has to be said that Historic Steve has been a great servant of our Association of Denbury Boys. Yes, he has asked for donations and I have donated as I have with others too.. And I wouldn't expect to see any statements either. This dispute between two members is just another sad dimension of how our Association is in decline. Numbers are down for the Barnsley reunion and is it any wonder.

Hi all
Anyone remember PJ Hine joined jan 63 junior wing, and left Nov 63 serves no longer required (reason not known). He died late Oct and to date cannot find what troop he was in or the reason he left. Any info on Hine would be gratefully received as his sister is trying to get info from his Denbury Days. If you could either email me or reply on the site would be thankful.

I have been asked to post that Geordie Dobson has been diagnosed terminally ill. Vince Borda and John Topping have been to see him.
Geordie is great friends with Jim Brown and Mick Waring and theycould always be found together at reunions.
I am sure we all offer our sincere wishes to all his family and friends at this time.

Can someone post this on the other site please
