Hi All, Met up with George McIntosh at Fareham this lunchtime. Don't know where he was going, but, I think it may have been the Bahamas.
We had an excellent lunch of fish and chips, but, George just had to have mushy peas as well. We had a great chinwag, and, after a couple of hours putting the world right, we parted. To see each other again in Taunton in February. A great day. I even got free cup of tea. Cheers Jock

There is talk of people wearing "White" Poppies. Whilst I have no comments to make on their individual choice, I certainly would like to know where the money is going and I believe so would the British Legion. Sounds like a scam to me but hope not.

I regret to inform you that Roy Wellington, White Swan died on 10 January 2021. His wife Joy informed me of this, but, it has only just been notified.
Tony, if you would like PoD prior to updating your records, I will forward you the body of the email that I had from Joy.
He was a lovely bloke who I stayed in touch with sporadically after the Brisbane re union.
May he Rest in Peace
George

Well since my last message I have researched and found that the organisation is the peace union.. Below is a message I sent to them.
I note that you do not display a registered charity number, nor do you state what legal entity you are on your web site. How much money do you make from these sales and do you pay tax on this income.
I would appreciate some form of reply.
Regards
Jim White (Veteran)

Just today learned of the sad loss, to all who ever had the privilege of rubbing shoulders and bsing around a fire or a bar with him, of Mick Granitza. Those who knew Mick will be surprised to hear the mountain could ever die - what could hurt him? A great character with a huge heart. He had a fascinating back story. RIP Mick men like you don't come around often enough.
