Newton Abbot reunion 2019

Many thanks to those who attend the reuion over the weekend at Newton Abbot, although numbers were a little down, the same Denbury friendship was in abundance. It was a special occaision for Bob McClaren (W/Spear),Phil Wiles(Francisca) Frank Herod Harry Beresford(both Quadrant) and Graeme "Jock" Nicol(Bruno/Romulas) who arrived at Denbury 60 years ago. Bob and Jock were proudly wearing their original Denbury ties. We aso managed to do the Long Walk back to camp, where the hills seem to be getting higher as the years go by. A lunch and a few beers in The Jolly Sailor was enjoyed.

The Newton Abbot Reunion 2020 will be held over the weekend 11/12th September .

With Barnsley next month which I am sure will be enjoyed by all those attending, we have The Taunton Reunion 2020 21st - 22nd February look forward to seeing you all again.

Mike & Sue.

Hi Dave,
At my mother in laws funeral last year the funeral directors arranged a video link. Was watched by people in America, Canada, Wales, Scotland and people in the UK who were not able to attend. No doubt will have to arranged through the family when details are known if they are willing to do it.
Regards Trevor Calver

JOCK's FUNERAL ARRANGEMENTS

Message from Pete Whitfield -
I now have the details of Jock's funeral
It is to be held at The Oaks Crematorium, Havant, PO9 5NA at 1045 on the 15 Feb. There will be tea, coffee and nibbles that have yet to be arranged (I will keep you informed). His sister Maggie and his niece will be attending from Scotland.
Is there anyone that would like to talk about Jock or if anyone has any stories please let me know as I can then pass them on.
Could you also let me know if you wish to attend and if you want to go onto the wake please so that I will have an idea of numbers.
Just to let you know I will be repeating this post on the R Sigs site.
Please try to make an effort to attend, thanks.

Hi everyone. Viv and I had a great time at Taunton. Thanks for setting it all up Mike and Sue.

Hi Chris! (Jones). I assume you are going via Caen? Pegasus Bridge is just a few miles from the port of Ouistriham. My mother used to help out a Colonel Woods in the mid seventies, He was a JAG then, but after many years I found out that he was a lieutenant in the Ox and Bucks and was in charge of the second glider at the Bridge on June 6 1944. His uniform and medals should be in the museum now as I asked about him last time we were there and they told me his wife had just gifted them to the museum. He got the Legion 'D' Honour from the French and a piddling MBE (Military) from the British Government!!
From Oustriham just head up on the COAST ROADS towards Cherbourg, all the beaches are en-route and many small and large museums. Have a great time Chris. Mind the boulders in the car park at Omaha beach!!

Regards to all Mike.
