Hi Tony
I have a picture of three ex-Denbury Boys at the National Memorial Arboretum on the 21st June 2018 standing behind the 'Denbury' Bench but I can't seem to attach it to this message.
If you reply I'll send it to you in an ordinary email.
Regards

Barnsley 2021.
As you know the Holiday Inn give the Denbury Boys group preference on booking and prices. They have even turned away weddings and funerals to facilitate our dates. I know there has been some comments that perhaps Barnsley is not the right place or format for reunions and that I can understand. Barnsley has been well attended over the last 15 years and 2020 is set to be well attended being my family attending for my 75.
As to 2021 I have told the hotel I am unable to commit (at this time).
Nothing last for ever and perhaps it is time to call it a day. I would welcome any views that people may have as to going forward with this reunion. Some comments indicate that Newton Abbot should be the real home of the bigger reunion and that Barnsley being just weeks after detracts from this being a bigger event. Having been involved with the last parade reunion it will take some arranging. The racecourse is a the only option if a event is to be arranged. Accommodation is and will be a problem in trying to get everyone together in the same hotel.
Tony perhaps you can post this on the Facebook page and on the Google site.

Below in RED is a mail I received from Mr. Wright.
It appears that that he has some difficulty is distinguishing between research and actual ownership/copyright.
I agree that he has done some sterling work. He has however been better funded than any of the other sites in the group by donations. Were not the “Junior Mercury” CD’S for purchase at around £10. The Denbury Tie was also a site revenue stream.
I have personally donated hundred’s of pounds to his site pocket.
Research is one thing but copyright is different matter altogether. Tony as I have said previously has been pestered by him for months ( he gets mad when his research is used without a splendid exhalation to the name Steve Wright) for no reason. NOW HE THINKS I will just go away because he has told me not to contact him again. No chance!!!
Last year I had abusive calls from him accusing me of certain things outside my control . I have never contacted him since until this week with my request.
I have helped this guy “Monetarily” perhaps more that any other Denbury Boy. This is the Guy who stated that everything I have ever done for Denbury Boys (Funerals, Reunions etc) was for “SELF GAIN” I assured him that I have “Never” ever made a “Penny” from anything in fact I have spent lots of money to put things right. “ SO TO ACUSE ME of theft really pissed me off rest assured.
Some may be asking as Joe Mac did what this is all about. That is the reason I am sending this post so people can see the true points of issue.

PS. Did anyone send a photo Jan61 Junior Wing Sgt. Davies squad to Steve or a Iron Troop photo Spring Term 63 an Iron Troop Summer Term 63 and finally a 2Squadron Photo 1962. Thanks in advance

I was amazed at your first email but willing to please and agreed to the remove the images as per my reply, this will happen in your time frame given (who do you think you are, I am not on of your suppliers or staff!)
2nd email I do not agree as have other names against the images you have pointed out, regarding 2 Sqn had 3 or 4 copies sent, so was able to pick out the best resolution, these are not yours to delete, have always maintained a system of who sent what
Sure the folks in the images would like them to remain, to maintain a record of the days gone by, will now list the major points of my research since joining up again in 2002
1. Visited the Royal Signals Museum Blandford from Germany four times to record Denbury information
2. Purchased from the Public Records Office Kew our history at great expense finding most of it already had from Blandford
3. Visited the local newspaper office in Newton Abbot searching their archives for our past and got them to attend press coverage before and after the 2005 “Big One”
4. Exeter museum for research and contacted the Western Morning News who gave me some great images
5. Arranged a display at the Newton Abbot museum for 2005 and blagging a loan the Cobb Memorial Trophy and the Princess Royal’s pipe banner from the Royal Signal Museum (BTW another former Denbury Boy claimed it was all is own work!)
6. Maintained an offline database putting former Denbury Boys back in touch when they wanted to
7. Blagged all the Junior Mercuries and scanned and trimmed 840 pages and published for all to read
So when seeing my research is used elsewhere many times without acknowledgements I get VERY mad
After receiving support from other former Denbury Boys regarding your recent comments posted elsewhere, I am asking you to NEVER to contact me again
Goodbye

Just done a check and in an Email dated 30th October 2012 the cost is confirmed as follows:-
Junior Mercury £13.00p each
Denbury Tie £22.00p.
Very Good profit margin. In 2012 we were paying around 20p for a blank CD. I believe the Tie’s had a buy in price of around £10/12.each

Thu 19 Mar 2020 — CANCELLATION OF 2020’s TEN TORS EVENT
A statement from the Director Ten Tors, Colonel Neville Holmes MBE:
‘It is with regret that I announce that this year’s Ten Tors event will not go ahead due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This decision has been made in line with current Government and clinical advice. I know that this will be a great disappointment to many however, given that safety is always our number one priority with Ten Tors, I hope it will not be a surprise. Although this year is the 60th Anniversary of Ten Tors, next year will now see the 60th event and so we look forward to celebrating this milestone with you all then. In the meantime, I would like to congratulate all those who have achieved so much whilst training for this year’s event and thank the hardworking teachers, leaders, parents and others who have enabled them to do so.’
