Hi Les.Your memory is spot on Trimdon is indeed my domain I hesitate to say i remember those early days too well-a little prompting is often needed-but Rob was indeed there too as was David Thomas one or two other names spring to mind but to be perfectly honest i cannot be sure if they were part of our intake or just friends of that particular time . Hope you have weathered well i cant complain myself as like you i am still here . Cheers Des

I left the site some considerable time ago because of the high and mnighty approach by some of the thought police there. They really should get a life and let other people have a laugh. Good on you Chalky-stuff em!

Hi all Just catching up on the news i read that Leo has past away.I knew him from 2Div 69/70A great guy I did some diving with him at the time. He did contact me middle of last year and we were going to have a long awaited beer when I next manage to get to the South of UK. R.I.P. Leo.I for one will remember him as he was A GREAT GUY. Alec.

Just thought I would let you all know that Leo s funeral went off well. Approx 30 boys attended and as you would expect the church was full to bursting. Courtesy of Phil Kirk a video was made of both the church service and the buriel and the farewell with port on the Tamar. If anyone would like an copy please let meknow. As some may know I have left the Yahoo site because of some of the mails following Leo s death. If any want s to change or add to the Barnsley reunion list please contact me on my email address.RegardsChalky

Hi Des Tell me are you the lad from Trimdon that arrived at Denbury at the same time as me as Iam sure you are .I have often thought about what happened to you. There was also another lad from our neck of the woods I think Langley Park his name was Rob Wilson. Maybe Iam wrong as my memory gets fuddled at times its an age thing. But hey lets hope you remember me.

Hi everyone.from those years anyway. I have no reason for making an entry except that i seem to look on the site fairly frequently so i thought it was about time i made a contribution. Times were mainly great in those early years but not all obviously-growing up never is . On the odd occasion a name comes up that i recognise the memories are often mixed but i wouldnt have changed them for the world . I am in fact still in touch with a few fantastic friends from those memorable days and while faces have changed ( a little lived in ) They are still deep down the same guys with fond memories of days gone bye. DENBURYDAYS ! Thanks for a great site ]

Hello Ginge. I may have known you at Denbury but I am wondering if you went to 28 Sigs? I was there from 62 to 65. Your name seems very familiar to me and although age has taken its toll I feel that we knew each other in those distant days. Hope that you and yours are fit and well and hope to see you at the Floggit reunion. Regards and best wishes. Mike.

Mike Yes I was at 28 Sigs from November 1964 until I left the army in October 1967. My father was also there WO11 RQMS. He is still going well he will be 88 this December and has lived in Melbourne since 1970. I used to be in the Boxing team with a cpl Ray Smith amongst others. I also worked in the officers mess for a while just to keep busy with the regiment not being a regular working unit for our trade. BW Eric
