Lads of A tp then quadrant of Era 1960 and 61 and maybe 62. I am going to visit your old Tp Sgt Tom (not Tim as ernie put)Martin in july. You may not remember but we had him first as a lot of potential Tp Sgts came to us to be trained by George Tash Aven. I met Tom several times since those days. tom left the army having turned down a commission (He was WOI) went to Arabia for a good number of years instructing air cadets came back and settled down his house now paid off. After his wife s death in 95 he ended up in USa marrying a nurse he had met many years before and now leives in missouri. tom is still a keen photographer and he took all the photos for the 10 tors brochure in 1060 and 61. I shall be driving from Miexico to Missouri via San Juan Capistrano leaving there on July 5th arriving in Missouri around july 8 or 9th depending on mileage done each day (and if the wildfires in Arizona are under control) you can email me at theredcoat2@yahoo.com if you want me to pass on any memories to him He is currently regarding from ankle surgery (had an implant) I think he took over Quadrant from Harry Meekings. Reading the entries for a couple of pages it seems we have a growing contigent in Perth Australia now that mike/Mick furey is there I think the count is 4 although one did move down to Denmark on the coast..cheers Keith L Tp oct 58-Dec 1960

We exchanged a few experiences going back to our early early days travelling down to Newton Abbott from Darlington. I wonder how many other old (in years only) mates are living just around the corner ? Off to Bulgaria on Monday for a bit of sunshine.

To Frank Herod . Remember the car you had at Denbury Frank? We turned up at a pub one night where the O.C. and all the other officers and Senior N.C.O.s wrere drinking. We left but not before ordering a drink for Capt. Hoare. When we got back to camp Tim MArtin gave us a roasting for not buying the O.C. one. Good times. Ernie

Here is an email I have received from leo s friend who has been taking care of things for Linda in clearing up Leo s business dealings. I think we should be proud of the difference we have made for Linda.Dear Jim What a delight to meet with you lads again albeit under sad circumstances. I am truly amazed at the generosity and support that Linda has received. It will enable here to stay put for a year or so and she has done the rounds of Social Services Pension Dept and not least CAB who are being a great help relative to housing benefit Council Tax and other matters. I have been able to help in some small measure in that connection and Father Philip as always has been a great comforter. You have all been fantastic and I know that apart from Ron Mac and yourself in the big time there have been many donations of a more modest though generous nature.I have spent time with Linda over the past two weeks and of course prior to Leoâ??s funeral but I think now that she is getting her head round things and looking to settle down to a different perspective on the world. When I pay my annual visitation to my elder brother John at Barton on Humber in September I shall call on the way through by telephone just in case you are available for a swift half at the Ardsley House Hotel for old times sake or otherwise.Best Wishes and really well done for Lind I think you are all members of a great team.Cheers Jim
