Hi ChalkyYour right about the cost I have been involved with a couple down there over the last few years. We would be talking a separate fund for such a project. That said it may well just come down to a plaque and a dedication if anything early days yet. Have fun Harry.

Harry and all.Not too sure on the Memorial. I remember the Army Apprentice Harrogate doing something similar and it cost many thousands of pounds. I would rather have money we could spend on Denbury Boys that are here today and need a little help now. I know some of you are not on the other Yahoo sites and may not know that these 2 items of memorial and Denbury boys fund has been raised before. Harry thanks for all you do.Chalky

Hi AllBelow is a message I have posted on other DB sites in the last couple of days.I have today sent a request to NMA in respect of a memorial to Denbury boys.My request at this stage includes all those civilians and Permanent Staff whowere instrumental in shaping us in our early days as Junior Leaders. The NMA will (I hope) come up with suggested ways forward in our journey towardsa permanent memorial they may also suggest types etc. They may also tell us tobog off politely. However it is in my mind that Oakhampton Battle Camp as well as Ten Tors maywell get the chop in the not to distant future. With that in mind I would likeyou to consider The Denbury Cross as being a fitting permanent memorial at somefuture date.Obviously that suggestion has many facets and will need a lot of considerationin respect of logistics costs feelings commissioning Town; BT? and many more.Anyway the ball is rolling and from experience with other groups it is not asimple journey it may also cost us quite a lot of Brass-a bridge to be crossedat the appropriate time.In addition a small committee may well have to be set up this could be our yetto be determined DBCF Committee.Have fun

Since finding this site I have found long lost pals Phil Wiles and Les Ward to name but a few. I m still looking for Tony Pope John Sharman Dave or Stewart Longhurst Ron Thompson Tony Rogues ?? Dixon who had a fancy for motorbikes. I noticed recently that Bob Peake was mentioned-not only was he involved with B Troop or Junior Wing(too old to remember which one it was) he was also my MTO while I was serving with 38 Sigs(V). If you are aware of his contact address I would like to receive it.I would like to end with the saying from Les come on there must be more B Troopers out there-get an entry in! I am also looking forward to an entry (in the near future) from a person who many of us will remember- a guy called Chris SpearmanGraeme (Jock) Nicol
