I visited Leo s grave earlier this year. It seems to me sad that it is just a patch of grass and a handmade wooden cross. I have spoken to Linda and she has no means of getting anything permanent erected. I ask if she would mind if the Denbury Boys erected a simple headstone. She said she would be grateful if this could be done. So I am asking if anyone would like to contribute to the cost of doing this. I estimate the cost to be around ?£1 000 erected. If you feel you can or want to contribute please send any donation to me. I already have a donation for ?£250 which I will match. Thanks in advance Chalky

Most other sites have a Last Post link If possible I think it would be good if Denbury Days also had one As it would be beneficial as we would be able to see who had passed on and at least offer our condolences on line even if we could not attend the funeral I hope Beryl could agree to this Eddie.

Foa. Beryl WrightBeryl I do understand what you are saying. I did try in the early days to try and get a Fund going for just such occasions to ensure we at least sent a wreath. Not everyone can afford to make a long journey and again the fund would have been able to assist with travel and accomadation. Alas this was met with some objections. Some Denbury Boys had a greater circle of mates than other. Leo was one of them and the legacy he left has resulted in the situation that has evolved. ADenbury Boy is a Denbury Boy and I would like if only it was possible to attend and celebrate each and everyones passing.Chalky
went to mike smiths funeral yesterday and i was really dissapointed that not one denbury boy turned up. it seems that only certain popular ex lads get the attention and others are ignored. yes i have also went to see leos grave in april but i wont contribute to a headstone as i feel that what is good for one lad should be good for all of you. regards beryl.
