PhilipI and many others were there in 62 I am sure you will get several responses. If you go to the links at the bottom on the left todenburyjuniorleaders there you will find the history of the regiment compiled by Steve Wright. If you go to highlights 62 there are several newspaper articles on the fire. At the moment the site is having a upgrade but will be back soon. All the best inn your search

Hi Philip I was a member in 1962 and although the memories are a bit vague I do remember that night very well those sort of incidents are hard to forget. Sandy and John Ball were in the drying room looking after the tents from a very wet exercise on Dartmoor. The rest of us were saved from the fire by the fact that some had broken the curfew and come back late and before the fire had gone too far to raise the alarm for the rest of us. I am sure that when you receive the info from Steve Wright it will be a great help. I did visit Sandy s grave last year and it is being well looked after even after all these years.

Hello Mike Really good to hear from someone who served in the same unit. The only people I seem to be able to remember are the HK Local lads. I also worked in the Comcen on shifts for a while I volunteered to do so mainly because there really wasnt a lot of activity on the squadron. All the best Jack Jackson

JackI was there 68 for 6 months. Took over from Mike at least that was the plan but leave and babies meant we never did the hand over. Remember a few of the girls that worked in the comcen. Sandy Pat. ANN (TELEPHONE EXCHANGE). The old doby waller KON who took care of everything in the block. Rember Batty and the SSM who s name escapes me have some photo s which I will let you have a look at maybe a few faces you remeber.Chalky
