Re: message 3412 about Keith Greenhalgh & Dave Hopkins, both Jerboa. Dave Hopkins is alright and I am in regular contact. Keith has moved home and his emails seem to be discontinued.

Hi Bob, thank you for your response. Have i got his troop wrong? i was doing it from memory, I really don't know where I got White spear from. We live in Cornwall, a bit of a bus ride for you i'm afraid. Now i'm going to star throwing questions at you.
What can you tell me of your time together at Denbury? Can you give me any other names of the guys you were both with?
Was he REALLY in the band?
Do you have any photos.....that you would want to share?
Can i email you or you email me. Think thats enough to keep you going, haha. Thanks again. Wish i thought of this before he became ill.
Best Wishes Kathy.

Hi Keith
John was at the pub for Fred Songhurt's farewell. Maybe see you and Rose at the funeral, not sure yet. The details are on the last post site.

Re Rob Elliot.
I aslo joined in May 61 along with Bob Waight but I was in a different Sqn. But I had a niggle in the back of my mind I knew Rob. Both Bob Waight and I were in the band,Bob a drummer and myself a trumpeter. I looked at the White Spear troop photo and could not see Rob listed. But I had a image of him in my mind, and found photos of him twice, but no name,if its the right bloke.
http://www.denburyjuniorleaders.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/08/White_Spear_Troop_1962.pdf. page 1 at bottom 4th from left, not named
In the band on the left as a drummer. http://www.denburyjuniorleaders.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/05/82d_Band_1963.pdf . Page 6 on the left. In both photos he is next to Tony Mullins.
Hope this is the right person.
Regards to Rob
Mike.

Kathy, I am happy for you to e-mail me at waightbob@gmail.com
Yes, Rob (929 Elliot) was in the band, he played , well I don't know what sort of drum it was. A bit bigger that a side drum, but smaller than the bass. The sticks had tassles on, and were twirled around in a poncy manner. Rob may remember Mitch, who played the bass, Ian Smith AKA piccolo, who was Pipe Major, Hoppy Hopkins, the Drum Major, and of course Yatesy, who ran the band. Please get in touch. Bob
