Regarding Taff Watson I remember him well. I think he may have been about a year older than me and was (and probably still is) a very nice chap.

Winston asked that this be forwarded and posted: I am still organizing a 2015 reunion in Ottawa just trying to sort out a few more details re trips around the reunion dates. Was thinking of a boat cruise around the 1000 Islands (from Kanata 2 Hours) which is very nice or also a bus trip to Niagara Falls for a few days (from Kanata 7 hours by bus). Please let me know if anyone would be interested in either of these or both planned around the reunion. I was wondering whether mid June 2015 or mid August 2015 would be best for you. I know July is a busy month for folks in the UK plus I think July 01 is a very busy day in Ottawa I don t think a revisit with 50 000 folks in downtown Ottawa is wise I mean we could loose Chalky again. Don t worry Chalky my Son in law works for OC Transpo so I have advised them to be on the lookout for you to get you home safely to Kanata. If anyone interested in coming over around those dates could you give me a headsup so I can plan on numbers. Cheerio for now from Kanata Cheers Winston

I think Taff Watsons first name is Mel not sure what it is short for though. Taff had a younger brother Dave Watson who was in White Swan.

I ve just read a comment from Bill McLeod in which he mentions that we had a fight at Catterick over his girlfriend (now his wife of 47 years) I have to say I m pretty shocked at this statement as I don t recall him having a girlfriend during the time that we shared a barrack room in the summer of 63. I ve emailed Bill to ask him to clear this up.

Sorry but I never knew Taff s first name either. I remember some of the lads putting a hedgehog in his bed for a laugh he wasn t too pleased as it was riddled with fleas. Taff was one of our best boxers and won his weight division at the inter troop boxing in 62. I last saw him in about 1980 when he was the manager of the visiting boxing team that took on a Dutch team at JHQ Rheindahlen.
